From an early age, I was fascinated by personal histories. I often pored over my family’s photo albums, stayed at the dinner table late to hear the grown ups share stories, and found myself behind a camera. The idea that I could create my own stories led me to film school in Philadelphia.
I began my career in the Production Department, acquiring a strong professional skill set on everything from large studio features, to small independents, and commercials. I learned how to work with and facilitate many moving parts towards a common goal, how to pay attention and anticipate, to value collaboration and open communication, how to stay calm under pressure, and above all how to put all of that towards the service of a story. This background in production allows me to fully understand the needs of each production I support. I have been fortunate to work with many diverse and talented crews, and be a part of truly powerful stories.
My skillset continues to serve me well both professionally and personally. Whether working on set to document the journey of a film being made, working with a family to capture the moment their first baby meets their second, or just getting my two kids dressed and out the door ready for school.
I have a deep appreciation for photography as a means to record where we’ve been and where we are going. My work has been called observational, and I consider that high praise.
